The candidate will:
• Manage a team of up to 10 developers (initially 5) to design and implement new Market Risk systems from functional specifications.
• Structure projects; motivate team members; prioritize work with business users and allocate team resources to consistently deliver against targets.
• Drive design decisions and agree and enforce good design, coding and implementation practices.
• Solve technical and design problems effectively and creatively.
• Lead the team through change whilst producing results and maintaining morale.
• Take ownership of career development and team building for the team in Kiev.
• Responsibility for building an effective working relationship with the team and other stakeholders in NYC, London and Singapore.
• Demonstrate keen awareness and understanding of compliance, data protection, financial industry environment, controls, procedures and supervisory responsibilities.
• Transfer knowledge to direct reports and mentor junior team members.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail with a high level of strategic vision.
Technical Requirements
• Strong C# including WPF, WCF, multi-threading and experience in an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of development in an Oracle RDBMS environment including stored procedure writing; ADO; schema design; performance investigation and tuning.
• Solid OOP experience and design skills.
• Exposure to test driven development and automated testing.
• Build, release management and source code control skills.
• Excellent understanding of the full SDLC lifecycle including both waterfall and iterative methodologies.
• Experience with continuous build practices, including unit testing and peer code reviews.
• Strong ability to analyze data, detail orientation and good quantitative ability.
• Basic or intermediate knowledge of Microsoft excel.
